Last twelve months I've added a Dreamcast, Mega Drive and a Gamecube to the mix. Nice wee collection for the GC and DC; but my physical 'to play' pile is fucking huuuuuuuge (think I have close to 1000 physical games over PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, PS5, Vita, Gamecube, Switch, Switch 2, Mega Drive and Dreamcast and Xbox 360). And that isn't even counting the Steam pile, PS Store games and Nintendo store stuff. I may have enough games for the next 15 years aha.

Been going down a heavy retro/nostalgia road lately so last night I bought a PS2 slim to get back into the classics. On the top of my head I want to replay: GTA3, God of war II, MGS1/2/3, Crash bandicoot, Gran turismo. Some people are mentioning Shadow Of Colossus being a MUST HAVE and Final Fantasy X ( looking at you @NateDog ) but ive also been looking into Zone of the enders. Do you guys have any other classics that you would recommend be playing through?

(Merged this with the "Retro Gaming" thread)

I bought Zone of the Enders recently but haven't had a chance to play it. Largely as I've set up my PS2 Slim at my girlfriend's house to play with her and her housemate. I'm looking into getting a spare fat PS2 since a multitap I bought doesn't seem to work on the slim, so I'd then set up the fat one at hers for multiplayer and take my slim back home for single player stuff like ZOE.

SOTC and FFX are both essential, no doubt about it

I would throw in ICO alongside (before) SOTC. SOTC is fantastic but ICO holds such a special place in my heart. I used to write for a long-defunct website from time to time, but the one piece I remember writing was about how influential ICO is in gaming. I think Dark Souls is one of the biggest examples of it in terms of world design, being in such a large world and feeling like you're such a tiny piece in it and feeling so isolated and lonely.

Watch some ICO gameplay since I never heard of it. I don't think I've ever seen such a minimalistic game lol. It almost gave me a little anxiety feeling, almost as if you are playing a dream. SOTC is on the list but what chocked me the most was how good the LOTR games look and feel on PS2??? Have u seen or played any of  them? They do this thing where the mix in some clips from the movie into the game and then it crosses over to gameplay, really awesome tbh.

I've heard so much about FF but never actually played any of them, they passed me by during my childhood but I'm going to pick up and play through FFX at least to see what the fuss is about. It seems @NateDog likes final fantasy quite a bit Big Grin .

Nate is an FF superfan unfortunately, he's constantly reminding me about how his fandom is more valid than mine along with @Dirty Duck
