I am the same way. I have drinks inside for family/friends. But instead of grabbing a water, I just grab a zero sugar soda. I think for me its the carbonation I like not the drink itself.

Weirdly when I'm away from home I'm fine, i only bring water with me and fill it up regularly, if I'm eating food I generally just drink water, it's when I'm at home that's the problem

I order in a crate of oolong tea cans once a month. It's a good substitute as it's really refreshing when cold but contains no sugar. Problem is when it's hot like it has been lately I get through them way too quickly.

I'm mostly water now. I weaned myself off cordial / squash because it kept staining my water bottles and I was fed up of replacing them.
avatar
Trying to go back to squash briefly to wean myself away again

I've been trying to get away from soft drinks again. I used to just drink water and only that but she loves Coke far too much so it's almost always there and I end up having it with food here and there, then I feel like I need it far more than that

There's definitely something satisfying about an ice cold regular Coca Cola that the sugar free stuff just cannot accomplish. But the novelty wears off after one drink, tbh.

Telling my bro u said that

Yeah I think soda tastes best when you have it sparingly. I'd rather have a fatty Coke once a week than a Coke Zero every day.

The only issue I honestly can think of is over drinking zero sugar drinks. Since one could adapt. "well if it's 0 calories I can have as much as I want".
avatar
I think the side of convenience makes them preferable. Getting a similar taste/mouthfeel and practically 0 calories. Suh-weet.
avatar
They weren't mine either. I forced myself to so I could cut the extra calories. Now I do like them and the normal versions taste almost too sweet for me.
avatar
Zero sugar sodas are just not my bag. Only one I find good is Irn Bru Xtra or Zero.
avatar
I've been drinking the zero versions of sodas lately. Con't drink my calories like I used to.

Pizza and chicken wings. Classic meal with the Diet soda on the side to mind the figure.

Usually I'll eat some grilled out food (hamburger, hot dog, potato chips, etc.) and watch fireworks with the family once the sun goes down.
avatar
What do you normally do on 4th of July? Do you eat hot dogs?
avatar
full shift. I work seconds so 2-10pm
avatar
Did you have to work the whole day?

Sounds lovely! Had to work the holiday, but it wasn't busy so I won't complain.
